Most church communities are familiar with the word ‘mission’ since a ‘Lenten mission’ or an ‘Advent mission’ are preached regularly, even on a yearly basis. An Eco-Mission is a preached mission focusing on the precious gift of God’s Creation and our responsibility as a Christian people to be good stewards of that Creation. The word ‘Eco’ means ‘home’ and refers to our home, the Earth. This Eco-Mission will approach the need for personal ecological responsibility by promoting a deeper awareness and wonder at the beauty of God’s Creation.
